All Things Go music festival announces very familiar New York City lineup

For the first time ever, the DC-based festival will host a concurrent event in New York with a surprisingly similar lineup

Any New Yorkers who missed Chappell Roan’s paradigm-shifting set at Gov Ball this past weekend will soon have another chance to experience the femininomenon for themselves. After making both headlines and history in full Lady Liberty drag in Queens on Sunday, the “Good Luck, Babe!” singer is officially returning to the borough for her second major festival of the year, as a part of All Things Go’s just-announced NYC lineup.

Last week, the DC-based festival made a pretty unprecedented announcement. This September, for the first time ever, they will also be hosting a mirror of the main fest on the exact same weekend in New York’s historic Forest Hills Stadium. The announcement was initially met with a bit of skepticism online. If heavy hitters like Chappell Roan, Reneé Rapp, Janelle Monáe, and Ethel Cain were all already booked for the DC version, who would be left for New York? It turns out... Chappell Roan, Reneé Rapp, Janelle Monáe, and Ethel Cain. While some artists in the newly announced lineup are unique to New York, many of them are now booked to play Saturday in one city and Sunday in the other. Will this ambitious plan actually work in practice? Who knows, but now two cities-worth of crowds will be on the scene to find out.

It’s unclear as of this writing if the festival is planning to erect multiple stages on the Forest Hills grounds, but there isn’t that much extra space (this is New York City we’re talking about after all), so everyone will likely be performing one after another. This might mean even more bang for your buck with time saved running between stages and fighting for the best views, but less time actually spent with each artist. While the DC edition is currently sold out, tickets for NYC go on sale Friday, June 14th, at 10 AM ET here.
