Starz, Friday, 9 p.m.: The highly underrated drama P-Valley spins off into a docuseries led by Nicco Annan, who plays Uncle Clifford in the original. In the six episodes of Down In The Valley, he tours the Deep South to immerse himself in themes covered in P-Valley by going to sex workshops, rap gigs, strip clubs, and more.

2. Jimmy Tatro returns to The Real Bros Of Simi Valley

Roku, Friday, 3:01 a.m.: It’s Valley week, huh? The three-season YouTube/Facebook Watch mockumentary The Real Bros Of Simi Valley returns after its 2020 finale. At the 10-year reunion of Simi High, Xander (creator and director Jimmy Tatro) and his squad attempt to be “the sickest version of themselves” and battle a rival group for a coveted award. Cast members Nick Colletti, Tanner Petulla, Cody Ko, Peter Gilroy, and Colleen Donovan return in the film, with new appearances by Tony Hale, Rob Riggle, Zoey Deutch, and Tyler Posey.

3. The Imaginary is here to rival John Krasinki’s IF

Netflix, Friday, 3:01 a.m.: Based on A.F. Harrold’s book, The Imaginary follows Amanda, a girl who discovers (and becomes quite attached to) an imaginary boy, Rudger. But when a hunter arrives at her doorstep, things quickly fall apart. The voice cast includes Hayley Atwell, Kal Penn, and Jeremy Swift.

4. Mirzapur is back for more violent thrills

Prime Video, Friday, 12:01 a.m.: One of Prime Video’s most-viewed Indian originals returns for season three after a four-year gap. Think of the Hindi-language Mirzapur as an unforgivingly violent, fast-paced Succession. In the show, a war breaks out to see who will succeed the town’s notorious crime lord, Akhandanand Tripathi (Pankaj Tripathi). Will it be his son or one of his mentees? Or will a rival gang ruin their plans?

5. Get your soap opera fix with Desperate Lies

Netflix, Friday, 3:01 a.m.: Brazilian drama Desperate Lies has a plot straight out of daytime television. In the series, a pregnant Liana (Juliana Paes) realizes she’s carrying two babies, each with DNA from two different men: her ex-husband who cheated on her and the man who assaulted her.
